Thermal Deformation Temperature (HDT): Defined as the temperature at which a material sample exhibits a pre-specified degree of deformation under a given applied load and constant temperature rise rate. This measurement indicates the thermal stability performance of the material under sustained loading conditions.
Vicat Softening Point: The temperature at which a weighted needle penetrates 1mm into a plastic test specimen under standardized testing conditions. This demonstrates the heat resistance performance of the material when subjected to combined heat and force.
Thermal Deformation Temperature Testing: The test specimen is placed on a support with a designated span, a specified load is applied, and the assembly is placed in a progressively heating environment. When the sample deformation reaches the designated value, the recorded temperature is the thermal deformation temperature.
Vicat Softening Point Testing: The test specimen is immersed in a heating medium, and a standard pressure needle is pressed against the sample under a given load. When the pressure needle penetrates 1mm into the specimen, the recorded temperature is the Vicat softening point.
